EXPERIENCE
We booked this hotel to celebrate my besties birthday, and what a great decision we made!
I never heard of this hotel, but after our stay, its become one of my favorites in Houston. We got a king suite with a beautiful view of downtown and for the size and experience, the price was great! I love going to hotels where you can tell everything was done with intention. There wasn’t a light, piece of furniture, book, or plant out of place. From the main lobby, to the elevator, you see inspirational quotes about women and the power that we hold, inspired by Charlotte and how pivotal her role was in making space for women in the real estate space. Honestly, after reading about Charlotte’s story, you have no choice but to be inspired as you walk down the halls of this hotel. And the scent!! Whoever decided to start the hotel signature scent idea is a genius, because it completely enhances and elevates your experience. Gives it more depth. Designed by Lauren Rottet of Rottet studios, - a pioneer in her own right in the interior design and architecture space, the mixed used of textures, wood, vibrant, yet subdued colors, greenery, and gold accents perfectly bring this hotel together in a luxurious, sexy and cohesive way. If Gatsby were a woman with better taste, I’d imagine his place look something like this.
During our stay, we arranged for Picnics in the City to come in and set up in our suite so we could have an intimate birthday dinner. We also decided to order in food from one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, Caracol and ate lobster tacos and drank champagne. After dinner, we went downstairs to have some cocktails and sat at the Lobby bar. We were pleasantly surprised when we met the hotel manager and he told us a lot more about the origin of the hotel and some of the really cool hidden rooms in the building (like the secret speakeasy with code word). At the time, the restaurant, Rosalie was not open due to COVID protocol, but it has since opened, so of course we had to go; i’ll tell you, it is just as impressive as the hotel.
Perfect for a staycation, baecation, business conference, networking event, and even a happy hour on a Wednesday night, this place has it all. It’s cozy, sexy, fun, sophisticated , and so eloquently curated.
Another great thing about this hotel? If you want to just check out the vibe without booking it, weekly, they host a “Office happy hour” from 3-6 at the Lobby bar, and some weekends they have events such as “Baldwin bubbles and caviar”, Live music events, and more! I love going to different hotel events, so I always make sure to follow the hotels social media and check their sites from time to time to get the latest and greatest. If you go, please let me know what you thought of your experience!
