The Laura Hotel
I was in dire need of a getaway, but I didn’t want to go too far, so I decided to book a staycation at the gorgeous Laura Hotel , located here in Houston! I was so inspired by the beautiful architecture and aesthetic of this hotel. With such a sophisticated, luxurious essence, and the perfect balance of elegance and opulence; The Laura Hotel transported me to a foreign land beyond what I could imagine. I couldn’t help but to capture a piece of its beauty.

Experience
A few years ago, while working as a new home consultant, I met a woman who told me that she takes one weekend a month and books herself a staycation in the city. And no matter what went on that month, she made sure to keep that time for herself. Immediately I was inspired. We get so caught up in the day to day of our lives, that we live for the weekends, and look forward to the little bit of PTO that we have to travel outside of our normal environment, and come back just to do it all again. We work so hard, but we don't hold the space for ourselves that we deserve for the sake of #capitalism. Its a lot that we take on, but after hearing that, I wanted to try it for myself, and you guys- it's a life changer.
Where did I stay? At the incomparable Hotel Alessandra, now known as Hotel Laura. Designed by the talented team at Rottet Studio (check out their work, honestly they have designed some incredible spaces!) the hotel's exterior is a stunning example of modern architecture with a nod to Houston's rich history. The hotel's focus on art and luxury is evident in every detail, making it a perfect choice for those of you who appreciate good design (assuming all of you if you're reading this, right?)
During my stay, I booked a corner king suite that came with a freestanding tub, and the perfect amount of space. It was a vibe to say the least! The guest suites are spacious and elegant, complete with custom furnishings, original artwork, and the coziest, most luxurious bedding (and robe that I almost stole) that you can imagine. And don't forget about the amazing views - many of the rooms offer stunning sights of downtown Houston! And if you want a little fresh air, some of the rooms even have private balconies or terraces. It's all about those little details that make your stay extra special.
There's something undeniably special about a hotel staycation. The feeling of being pampered, cared for, and surrounded by beautiful design and luxurious amenities is truly one-of-a-kind and GREAT for your mental health. And even though you're not far from home, it makes you feel as if you are. And I've had my fair share of hotel stays, but my stay at Hotel Laura is by far one of my favorites! It was exactly what I needed. From the moment I walked into the lobby, I knew I made a good decision in booking my stay.
All in all, my hotel staycation experience was one for the books - a luxurious, well-crafted retreat that left me feeling inspired, pampered, and kind of sexy, lol.
