There’s nothing quite like taking a trip when you’re in need of some inspiration, a break from life, and new perspective. Something about travel heals me. Maybe it’s the discovery of something new that gets me out of my head, or it’s the deeper understanding and perspective I gain of myself from being outside of my comfort zone. Either way, It’s imperative for me to travel as much as I can. This trip to Seattle in particular was long over due— 4 years and 1 month overdue to be exact, as I planned this trip for April 2020. Being the state of the world that time, I postponed it. Who knew it would come at a perfect time when one of my favorite Bad-ass authors, Jen Sincero was in town for a book signing on the 10 year anniversary of one of my favorite books, “You are a Badass”; at that time, I was in DEEP need of perspective, so what better way to gain it from the perspective giving badass herself!

STAY

I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Theodore, a cute boutique hotel that was in the perfect location in the Pike-Pine corridor downtown and walking distance from Pike Place Market and other restaurants and bars. At the time, I didn't realize, but this hotel has a permanent art collection, curated by Seattle’s Museum of History and Industry that tells the story of Seattle and some its change-makers; a true perfect stay for the artist in need of inspiration, such as myself! There are a fair amount of boutique hotels i in Seattle, but if you're looking for somewhere else to stay, I recommend:

Food

From the iconic Pike Place Market to the bustling waterfront, Seattle's vibrant food scene is a testament to its proximity to the sea. Renowned for its yummy seafood offerings, the city boasts an array of culinary delights that showcase the freshest catches from the Pacific Northwest. For a full list of my faves, check out our yelp guide below!

Roquette

DRINK

Seattle's cocktail scene is richly diverse, featuring everything from laid-back dive bars to upscale lounges. Dive bars offer unpretentious charm and classic drinks in a relaxed setting, while upscale venues boast inventive concoctions crafted by expert mixologists. Hidden speakeasies add an element of intrigue to the nightlife, offering a taste of mystery alongside expertly crafted cocktails. My favorite bar in Seattle would have to be Roquette, but whether seeking nostalgia or adventure, Seattle's cocktail bars promise a memorable and varied drinking experience for all.

Art

You know what truly surprised me about Seattle? Their art scene is pretty dope. From the iconic Pop Culture Museum to the mesmerizing Glass Museum, not to mention the incredible music scene—Seattle practically breathes art and culture. I mean, hellooo, this is the birthplace of Nirvana and Jimi Hendrix! If you're an art lover like me, you'll be in heaven. And if you're looking for some cool art spots and live music to check out, I've got you covered below.
