Welcome to your new Modern Italian spot for date nights, girls nights, solo dates, business lunches, and everything in between. A new concept under Atlas Restaurant Group - who also brought in Loch Bar, and Ouzo Bay in the River Oaks district. Marmo Italia opened up earlier this year as part of the Montrose collective located on Westheimer! Designed by Patrick Sutton , the restaurant has a modern, elegant design with exceptional lighting (PERFECT for pictures) using different textures throughout, giving you a little swank, and a lot of style. I’ve been here quite a bit, and have enjoyed so much of it. Check out my experience, things to order, and more below!

WHAT TO ORDER

I’ve tried a lot of the menu and so much of it is exceptional! When you go, you must order the calamari, crescent duck, blue crab bruschetta, Sicilian Lobster Salad, Squid Ink Campanelle, roasted mushrooms, roasted fingerling potatoes and the Hamachi if you enjoy raw fish. This is an Italian chophouse, and typically at a chophouse, the steak is amazing. Although I haven’t enjoyed it for myself just yet, I recommend you try it out! There’s everything from Tomahawks, dry aged steak, and more for you to indulge in.

ambiance

Crafted by the renowned interior designer Patrick Sutton, Marmo's design exudes a captivating blend of style, elegance, and sophistication, elevating it far above the ordinary Italian restaurant experience. Its contemporary aesthetics harmonize seamlessly with the ambient lighting, live piano melodies, delectable cuisine, and harmonious tunes, fashioning Marmo into a veritable sanctuary of luxury and escapism. As you step into Marmo, you might momentarily forget you're in Houston, as it transports you to a realm of heightened exuberance.

Sutton's masterful use of texture, color, and pattern imparts a refreshing uniqueness to Marmo, setting it apart from the typical Italian dining establishment, making every visit a truly intriguing experience.

COCKTAILS

And we can’t forget about the drinks! My favorites so far are the andiamo, and anything off their extensive wine list. Thier 202o Castallero is amazing! They also have a mocktail menu, and I tried the Arrivederci and enjoyed it. In Europe, citrus and coffee flavored items are pretty common, and though it was different, I found it surprisingly delicious!

Reservations are encouraged, but lunch time is pretty open. I hope you enjoy and let me know what you think! And when you go, tell them Belle’s Palate brought you in!
